FALL

Fall is over. . .almost! I love the fall, but we got up to the canyon a little late this year to take pics so they aren't too colorful! Here's a couple of them!

Fall brings hunting season for Derek. Last weekend was the elk hunt and in a few weeks will be a week long of shooting pheasants. Here are some pics of the beautiful hunters in all their orange!

Kohler Family Dinner

Last Sunday we went up to Heber for dinner with the Kohlers. We went on a picnic up around Snake Creek. It was lotsa fun. Brad & Camille couldn't come, but the rest of the family was there! Troy, Derek, Riley, Jaycee, Scott, Mike

Baby Dannon. . . isn't she beautiful!!!

Scott & MaKaylee & Family

My very handsome husband!

Derek & I also hiked Stewart Falls a couple of weeks ago. Derek had never been there which I couldn't believe, so I took it upon myself to show him the falls. They are very beautiful and it's a fun, easy hike that we could fit in with our busy schedules.

Lake Powell

Lake Powell, otherwise known as "The Greatest Place On Earth" in the dictionary of the Whimpey family, has come and gone again. It was a good trip and always adventerous when Dad is along. Mom made the best food and kept our stomachs full from sun up to way past sun down. Amy, Heather, and Mel and their families weren't able to come which was a bummer. The kids loved Lake Powell, even little Zeke loved the warm water.

CLIFF JUMPING:
Cael & Lance (Lance really is in the air though it looks like his foot is still on the rock)

Isaac

Most of the group after cliff jumping.

THE SLIDE:

Isaac
Cael
Dad soaking up the water in his stylin' hat. If you are wondering sisters, he still does the "Ohs", Ahs", and groans when he jumps into cool off. His belly flop is one of the best!

Jen & Lance looking all cute!
Mom, Mara, and Enoch making their best faces.

Baby Zeke

Dad with one of his best smiles and ofcourse, his "boat hair".

Matthew brought his kayaks which were a hit.
Dale, Ann, Drew, Lauren, & Adriana ready for a boat ride.

Holly & Enoch.

Eden Jane

On the way down, the boat got a flat tire. The adventure started when Dad forgot to blow up the boat spare tire. Luckily we weren't traveling alone. Aunt Janet took Dad to Ticaboo to blow up the tire. Nice jack Daddy!!!

THE HAPPENINGS. . . .

Dale & Lance braved yet another triathalon. They both did great!!!
Dale cheezin' it for the camera. He's pretty talented to be able to bike and attempt at modeling at the same time.
Lance running down the lawn of flags.

Dale, Ann, Drew, Lauren after the race

This is just a random picture I found of 4 of my beautimus sisters. Heather, Jen, Holly, Amy.

For the 24th of July we went to the Bee's game with Mel & Brock and Mom & Dad. It was way fun. Especially the fireworks.

I turned 25 last month. Sad day when you can finally say you are a 1/4 of a century. This is obviously not the greatest pic of me. But this is a good pic of how Derek wraps my presents. They just get stuck in any box that is laying around the house. This particular box contained 20 Vitamin waters (my fav drink). Believe it or not, this is a step up from last years birthday. Anyone remember the GUN??

This is us after we had just gone running in a complete downpour. Way fun, Derek's idea!

And yes, we are still in love!!!

The Fisherman and His Sidekick Part II

Yes, the fly fishing continues at the Kohler home. . .not necessarily by choice. I once again got wrapped into going fishing with Derek. This time we went up AF Canyon. I brought a book and read while Derek tried to master the art of catching a gross slimey thing. Here's a few pics.

Derek balancing while casting into the perfect hole!

The balancing act was worth it! He smiles better when he's posing with a fish than when he's posing with me. Don't you think?!?

I had finally had it. I told Derek I wanted to fish. He reluctantly gives in. I bounce up on the two rocks and begin balancing. As in my first fly fishing experience, my casting was horrific. I was about done when I stepped back off the rocks and felt a slight, ever so slight tug. I told Derek I had a fish. He didn't believe me at first, until he saw my line going down stream. The hilarious scene begins to unfold from here since I have never caught a fish on a fly pole and I was doing it all wrong with the reeling in and such. The fish kept going down stream and I yanked the pole. The fish jumps and Derek begins laughing hystarically considering the fact that he had to squint to see the fish. I ended up getting the line tangled in a tree with the fish dangling from that tree still on the line. So everyone, here's the big biter that can call himself, "Heidi's First Big Catch on a Fly Pole". Bytheway, Derek still laughs when he looks at this pic. Warning. . . look closely. Derek suggests getting out your reading glasses or a magnifying glass or both in order to be able to see that what is in my hands is not the bait, but an actual CATCH.
